Hi! I was wondering if someone here could help me find the ultimate present for my father. He has been looking for a special recording most of his adult life. It is "Shine" by Benny Goodman trio, with Gene Krupa and Teddy Wilson. It must be just the trio with this three musicians! Does anybody know where I could find this recording? In 1943 I was a USO Hostess and went to many cadet dances where Glen Miller's band performed. Loved the music!! While at a cadet dance, Tony Martin sang. I watched him as he completed his song and I nearly passed out when he looked at me as he left the stage and came my way. As he approached me he detoured around me. I was standing infront of a Coke machine in which he purchased a drink. Don't know if he was teasing me or really needed the drink. I met one of the violin players in the band. I can't remember his name. Wish I could get a list of all 50 band members so that I may remember his name. Those were the "Good Old Days" |
