Comments My neighbour works as a FA with AC, so I decided to take a quick look at this site with a view to maybe forwarding it to her. Finished up reading every word of every page. I have always been super critical of AC thanks to their business practices and employee relations - but after reading about the antics of good ol' Bob, AC comes out looking like angels! I once flew NX from LHR to YVR. The passenger holding area afforded a perfect view of the plane we were about to board. It was a DC-8, and old, very old. It looked too old to have jet engines, and I swear that the fuselage cranked in several different directions! The interior showed it's age even more so, and it stunk! Still, the FA's were cheery and attentive, despite this being "flying on the cheap". Now that I have read about what was going on at Nationair, I have even more admiration for their good attitude, and also my good fortune at arriving alive and in one piece. I guess that this just goes to show that sometimes, it's just better NOT to know....... If you are one of those who lost a loved one in the Jeddah disaster, my heart cries for you, no one should pay with their life for another's greed or incompetence. I hope that the passing of the years has eased your pain.

Comments Flew with Nationair many times in the early 1990's and always enjoyed it. One time my friend and I were late.. really late.. for a flight out of YMX to Puerto Plata and you folks didn't ditch us; we were driven in a car straight to the plane on th apron and our luggage made it too! I remember the Jeddah crash quite well, sorry for your loss. Anyone know how much that moron's house sold for finally?

Comments I came across this site today which brought back so many memories, i worked in YMX line maintenance crew 3 until the last day of operations - remember it well. Nationair was the tough job but had more dedicated employees than any company in existence not to mention the most fun i had while being paid in any job. I know we all bear the scars of that tragic day and carry that memory with us. On the other side of that story i would like to pay tribute to all the employees (in body or spirit) whose paths have crossed and made a difference to the planet you are not forgotten.

Site title Remembering a story about these two.
Comments I remember dealing with two girls on that flight. Debbie Salej and Carol. Two weeks before their crash I met with them at their residence on Indian Rd. They were very nice people and their concern was about the lack of a fire alarm system. I was a TFD fire inspector at the time. The system was put in thanks to those girls and then the crash occured. What is incredible with this story is about a year later we got a fire call to this residence and people were standing outside the residence after calling Toronto Fire about the alarm going off. There was a fire in the basement apartment and we ended up pulling the lady out of the fire and saving her. Incredible to think that even after their passing away they still saved 6 people. I hope someone relays this message to their families. I should of done this alot sooner but with media and nut cases out there it seemed a better idea to let them mourn their loss.
